This haunting work is both utterly original and eerily familiar, drawing on opera, folk music and plainsong for its inspiration, and revelling in the many gorgeous colours an electric guitar can conjure. Listen to a preview recording of the Pie Jesu movement

The first half of the concert comprises Brahms' radiant Marienlieder and Bach's masterpiece, Singet dem Herrn.

There will be pre-concert talks by Will Todd at 7pm (Cambridge) and 6:30pm (London).
